It gives me immense pleasure to present this Institution Development Plan for Govt ITI Rajkot, which has been a pioneer Training Institute of Saurashtra and Kutchh for over 48 Years.

The Institution has always strived to excel in its activities and this has been our organizational culture. Industrialization in and around Rajkot has taken place in very diverse and dynamic way. The region, once very popular and densely populated with Diesel Oil Engine industries and foundries, has now undergone gradual transition. Presently, it has global presence for its Machine tools industries, CNC machine manufacturers, casting and foundries, forging industries, and Automotive Components Manufacturers supplying to global Giants as OEM.

Regional and local Man-Power requirement also has changed over a period of time accordingly. In the era of post globalization and liberalization, it has always been a challenging task for the provider of manpower to dynamically match the requirements of the Industries. We, the family of ITI Rajkot, have always tried to bridge the gap between Industrial skill requirements and skills of ITI graduates. In our continuous endeavor to improve, the institute has got ISO 9001 : 2000 certification and started Centre of Excellence in Production and Manufacturing sector with financial assistance by Central Government recently. But this is not our destination. We have "......miles to go before we sleep."

Presentation of this Institute Development plan is a humble effort to set our own targets and also direction in which the family of ITI Rajkot would like the institute to be in future. Of course, our approach is dynamic and unforeseen future requirements of industries would be incorporated into our planning. I am confident that the glimpses of our future planning documented herewith will be of immense value to all of its stake holders as we meet the opportunities of Technological advancement and globalization. I have no doubts that the core role of ITI in reducing unemployment and making persons more employable will also get new heights in the future.
